Criteria for Inclusion
The University Core Curriculum Committee will begin accepting nominations for including a course in the KU Core 34 curriculum in fall 2024. The UCCC has identified criteria departments must follow for courses to be considered for inclusion in KU Core 34. These criteria ensure KU complies with the KBOR systemwide general education requirements and the effective and systematic assessment of student learning and KU Core 34, the general education curriculum.
Alignments with Kansas Board of Regent’s Systemwide General Education Framework.
The subject of the course must align with the area designated by KBOR. Departments may submit courses for inclusion in the KU Core 34 in the following outcomes:

Course Requirements for Inclusion
Must be numbered less than 400
Must be offered through the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and the School of Music, unless included as a systemwide transfer course within the general education framework
Must be offered regularly (minimum every two years)
Participate in the assessment and recertification processes as outlined by the University Assessment Committee and the University Core Curriculum Committee
